After a party to remember featuring Grammy-award winning band Train in 2021, Western Reserve Land Conservancy is once again partnering with Scott and Julie Mawaka and the Mawaka Charitable Foundation to benefit our Reforest Our City program. Rock Hall of Fame inductees Lynyrd Skynyrd will entertain us as we raise awareness about trees and the important role they play in a healthy and equitable environment now and for future generations. ROC in CLE 2023 is our signature fundraising event, with proceeds benefiting our efforts that have so far resulted in 15,000 trees planted and distributed throughout our region. It features three incredible events:

  • On May 19, gather at our award-winning, nationally renowned Conservation Center in Moreland Hills for breakfast and a panel discussion with experts representing Cleveland’s major healthcare institutions. They will discuss how the environment and trees shape our physical, mental, and spiritual health
  • On May 20, we invite you to join the party as a VIP at a red-carpet concert event at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica, in the heart of Downtown Cleveland. You will enjoy complimentary valet parking, catered gourmet food, signature cocktails, an exclusive VIP Party, and a front row experience of performances by opening act Brother Trouble and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees LYNYRD SKYNYRD! VIPs will be only a few feet away from the stage as the band performs some of their classic hits like “Gimme Three Steps”, “Freebird”, and “Sweet Home Alabama.”
  • For Earth Day, we invite our sponsors and friends to join us to plant trees in the City of Cleveland and experience the great work being done by Western Reserve Land Conservancy’s efforts to Reforest Our City!

We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Sponsorship

Once known as the Forest City, Cleveland trees are dying at a record pace due to disease and age.  We are looking for corporate sponsors, performing artists, local businesses, and many others to join our cause.

In 2021, Western Reserve Land Conservancy and the Mawaka Foundation, led by Scott and Julie Mawaka, partnered to raise over $500,000 to directly fund tree planting and restoring the Cleveland tree canopy. Over their lifetime, the trees we planted last year as part of ROC in CLE will:

  • Sequester over 12,800 pounds of carbon dioxide, the main cause of climate change;
  • Intercept more than 89,000 gallons of stormwater runoff
  • Remove 49 pounds of toxic air pollutants that can cause respiratory illness such as asthma
  • Help reduce the heat island effect in urban populations of Cleveland
  • Reduce noise pollution and improve the quality of life for thousands of Clevelanders for generations to come!

We’re expecting ROC in CLE 2022 to make an even greater impact. Contact us today for more details on sponsoring ROC in CLE.
