City Nature Challenge: Oberlin Preserve (Family Friendly Nature Event)

April 26 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Sunday, April 26 from 1 pm – 3 pm

Leaders: Judy Semroc, Field Biologist & Naturalist; Skye Powers-Kaminski, Educator at Oberlin City Schools; Ray Stewart, Naturalist; and Kate Pilacky, Associate Field Director at Western Reserve Land Conservancy

Join the Western Reserve Land Conservancy and Oberlin City Schools teachers for a guided nature discovery walk at the Oberlin Preserve. Our leaders will help you explore and learn about the biodiversity of this special site.

During the event, we will help document the biodiversity of the Oberlin Nature Preserve as part of the 11th annual City Nature Challenge—a four-day international “bioblitz” in which cities around the world work to document the greatest number of wild plant and animal species using the iNaturalist app. Participants will work together as members of the Northeast Ohio City Nature Challenge team to explore and record the plants and animals that call our local preserve home. Come discover, observe, and contribute to real scientific research in our own community.

Participants are also invited to join our Northeast Ohio City Nature Challenge project on iNaturalist to share the plants and animals you observe in the preserve:
