Vibrant Places Hike: Spring Wildflowers

April 30 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Event Details:
Thursday, April 30 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 pm
Ashcroft Woods

Leader: Judy Semroc, Naturalist & Field Biologist and George Warnock, Land Steward at Western Reserve Land Conservancy

Ashcroft Woods protects an amazingly diverse display of spring wildflowers. Also known as spring ephemerals, these plants are short-lived and take advantage of the sunlight reaching the forest floor before the trees leaf out. During this nature outing, we’ll leisurely walk a two-mile loop trail through the preserve, observing birds, plants, butterflies, and other signs of spring along the way. The trail may be wet, muddy, and strenuous in spots. Because this is a nature walk, we plan to stop often to observe and appreciate what nature has to offer.

One of the Land Conservancy’s Signature Preserves, Ashcroft Woods permanently protects over 1,000 acres of swamp and upland forests, as well as wetland habitats.

Advanced registration is required.
