Tim was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. He attended and graduated from University School in Hunting Valley in 1987. He received his bachelor of arts degree in political science from Southern Methodist University in 1991 and his Masters degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University in 1995. From 1995 until the end of 2008 Tim worked for Swagelok Company in Solon, Ohio where he most recently served as a Regional Director for the Asia Pacific region. In 2011 he started a hydroponic greenhouse lettuce and herb growing business called Great Lakes Growers in Burton, Ohio and sold his interest in the business in 2018. He has been involved in rewarding activities over the years including volunteering for the Achievement Centers for Children and being a board member of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. He lives in Chagrin Falls, Ohio with his wife Heather, son Henry and daughter Gracie.
