Christy Grimm Hill grew up in Hunting Valley, Ohio. Christy currently lives in Kiawah SC. She and her husband have 4 children, and 2 dogs. She enjoys sports, the outdoors and cooking.
Christy graduated from Orange High School, received her Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Yale University and her MS in Education from Lesley College/Shady Hill School in Cambridge, MA. She then taught 4th grade at Shady Hill, coached at the middle school level and trained apprentice teachers. While her children were in high school in Chappaqua, she was a member of and then head of the Sports Booster Club.
Christy has always felt a special connection to the land from a young age- from helping in the garden, exploring the woods and enjoying the outdoors through sports, to seeing her father Richard Grimm’s passion for the land and commitment to and engagement with WRLC. She also serves on the board of The Farm School Foundation. The Farm School mission is to connect people to the land through including but not limited to a visiting school program for young people and their teachers, the Chicken Coop school, a full-time, one-room home school cooperative for local kids and a learn to farm program.
