Sadie Jones

Manager of GIS

Sadie is the Manager of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at the Land Conservancy, where she uses mapping and spatial analysis to support land conservation and urban planning efforts. She earned her GIS Professional (GISP) certification in June 2025, a nationally recognized credential in the GIS field. She enjoys using her GIS skills to help the Land Conservancy make smart decisions to protect the places and communities we all care about.

Her journey into GIS started with a strong academic background in geography and environmental science. She holds a master’s degree in Environmental Studies and a graduate certificate in GIS from Cleveland State University. Before stepping into her current role, Sadie spent two years as an intern on the Land Conservancy’s urban forestry team, planting and caring for trees across Cleveland. That hands-on work gave her a deeper connection to the land and communities she now helps protect.

These days, Sadie applies her GIS expertise to projects like conservation prioritization, urban property analysis, and spatial database management. Her work helps identify critical areas for conservation and supports decision-making across the organization. In 2022, she and the Land Conservancy’s GIS team were recognized with the Ohio Geographically Referenced Information Program (OGRIP) Best Practices award for their GIS work.

Sadie lives in Willowick with her partner and their three cats. Outside of work, she loves to coach youth softball and spend time outdoors exploring nature in her community.
