Khalid Ali serves as Urban Greenspace Coordinator for Western Reserve Land Conservancy. In this role, he works closely with residents, city officials, community development corporations, and other key stakeholders to help navigate greening projects from inception to construction; with a heightened focus on community empowerment and engagement.
Khalid exudes a passion and commitment to urban revitalization, which is gleaned through his many years of experience working in housing, education, and non-profit spaces in the City of Cleveland. He has a unique understanding of both natural and institutional environments and is dedicated to improving conditions for vulnerable communities.
As a graduate of Cleveland State University with a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies, Khalid set out to align his life works with organizations and causes that address many of the challenges and barriers experienced in his upbringing. He is a member of the Black Environmental Leaders Association, and serves on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Committee at Western Reserve Land Conservancy.
