Jacob Pries brings a passion for conservation and connecting communities as the Southeast Field Director at Western Reserve Land Conservancy. With his steadfast dedication to connecting individuals with the outdoors, commitment to strategic partnerships, and dedication to getting to know communities, Jacob plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the Land Conservancy.
Jacob’s interest in conservation came at an early age when his father and grandfather would take him hunting, fishing, and camping. This immersion in the outdoors helped formulate his passion for protecting it. Jacob uses his relationship-building skills to bring together numerous individuals seeking great conservation outcomes across Northeast Ohio. Jacob believes that a connection to the outdoors is critical in fostering the next generation of conservationists.
Prior to joining Western Reserve Land Conservancy, Jacob interned for various non-profits such as the National Deer Association, Ruffed Grouse Society, and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers working on advancing conservation policy objectives.
Jacob holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the College of Wooster and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law. He is a member of Leadership Stark County’s Spotlight Program Class of 2024 and continues to engage in ongoing professional development to stay at the forefront of emerging trends and best practices in conservation.
Jacob enjoys spending time in the outdoors, whether that is hunting, fishing, hiking, or camping, he seeks time outside. When inside, he enjoys spending time cooking, reading about being outside, and watching some good old-fashioned NHL hockey.
Connect with Jacob and Western Reserve Land Conservancy to help provide the people of our region with essential natural assets through land conservation and restoration.
