Sugar Island Preserve Restoration
April 5, 2019
Western Reserve Land Conservancy has undertaken one of the most significant wetland restoration projects in Ohio and we’re in need of your support.
Located in the Lake Erie Watershed, Sugar Island Preserve is 1,100 acres of historic Tamarack bog wetland in both Trumbull and Ashtabula counties. Used for agricultural purposes for more than a century, Western Reserve Land Conservancy is working to bring the property back to its natural habitat by restoring the hydrology, planting native vegetation and managing invasive species.
