Nature & Wine: Chagrin River Valley

Celebrate Earth Day with a walk in the woods at the Shiverick Preserve in Hunting Valley followed by a toast to nature at Blind Squirrel Winery!

Protected by the Land Conservancy in 2022, the 88-acre Shiverick Preserve features a spectacular hemlock hardwood forest, which boasts a bird list of over 90 species, as well as four cold-water streams that are characterized as Class A Primary Headwater Habitat. Following the morning hike, we’ll caravan to nearby Blind Squirrel Winery  in Chagrin Falls for boxes lunches and a sampling of their wines.

Advanced registration is required. Transportation is on-your-own.

Fee: $30/person, includes naturalist-led hike, boxed lunch of your choice and wine tasting. Attendees are on their own to purchase glasses of wine and bottles.

Boxed lunch choices:

1. Turkey croissant sandwich, vegetable rice salad, fruit kabob, oatmeal scotchie dessert bar
2. Vegetable bahn mi wrap with quick pickled vegetables, Mediterranean quinoa salad, fruit kabob, brownie
3. Think Spring Grilled Chicken Salad (contains nuts & cheese), fruit kabob, bread roll, cookie

Please note boxed lunch items cannot be substituted unless there are dietary restrictions.

Location: Directions to the protected property will be sent to registrants. It is on Chagrin River Road in Hunting Valley, OH. Blind Squirrel Winery is at 7918 Pettibone Rd, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023
