Oberlin Preserve
Leaders: Ohio Mushroom Society and Renee Boronka, Director of Education & Outreach
Join members of the Ohio Mushroom Society for a spring mushroom scouting at the Land Conservancy’s Bolton Preserve in Lake County. We will search for fungi in the rich woods at this site, that is filled with big trees! Our experts will end the day with information about what we have gathered.
The 91-acre Bolton Preserve was protected by the Land Conservancy in 2022. Three trees at Bolton are among the top five largest of their species in the state – two tulip poplars (ranked fourth and fifth largest in Ohio, respectively) and a sugar maple (ranked fifth largest in Ohio).
Advanced registration is required.
All Land Conservancy events respect CDC guidelines and social distancing.
Fee: $10/person
Limit: 12 people
