Did you know that time in nature can improve your physical and mental health? Join us for a relaxing Sunday afternoon to learn more about the health benefits of nature and experience it firsthand! As part of the afternoon, guests will learn about the Nature Rx program and take a mindful nature walk around the Land Conservancy’s Conservation Center and into Forest Ridge Preserve, Afterwards we’ll have a Q&A with our leaders inside the Conservation Center around a cozy fire.
Biographies
Dr. Saira Ismail
Dr. Ismail is a board-certified family physician who spent the first 25 years of her career in private practice in her hometown providing both acute and chronic care for individuals and families. Her scope of care included babies, children, adults, and seniors. She enjoyed caring for multiple generations and being a part of her community. Currently she mentors medical students and residents at the SOAR clinic at NEOMED, the Northeast Ohio Medical University. She is also a founding member of the WPG (Women’s Philanthropy Group) at Mercy Corps helping women in vulnerable communities adapt to a changing environment by leveraging greener technology. Dr. Ismail also connects local physicians and health care systems with the Conservancy for the CVNP and serves as an advisor to the nature prescription program here in Northeast Ohio.
Kimberly LoVano
Ms. LoVano has served as the Community Engagement Director at the Conservancy since 2023. In her role, she works to advance the Conservancy’s community engagement programs, advocacy efforts, volunteer initiatives, and strategic DEI priorities. Before joining the Conservancy, she served as the Director of Advocacy and Public Education at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, where she led efforts to engage legislators, local stakeholders, and the community in the fight against food insecurity. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in international development and women’s studies. Since returning to Northeast Ohio, LoVano has become an avid visitor of the national park and an advocate for the benefits of greenspace for both physical and mental well-being.
