Zach Guren

Zachary Guren is the director of real estate development at GBX Group, who specializes in preserving and operating historic real estate in urban markets throughout the country. Represent­ing GBX’s interests, Zach manages the company’s development projects, which account for approximately one-third of the 8-12 assets acquired annually. Prior to joining GBX in 2019, Zach served as de­velopment manager for First Interstate Properties for over seven years and gained valuable expe­rience in the development process by participating in the management of sev­eral projects in a variety of sectors, including retail, hospitality, and multifamily.

Locally, he serves as a director for the Hershey Foundation, a foundation ded­icated to providing North­east Ohio children from all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds with opportuni­ties for personal growth and development.

Zach received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Eco­nomics at University of Michi­gan and earned his Master of City Planning and Master of Environmental Studies from University of Pennsylvania. Ad­ditionally, he has been a LEED accredited professional since 2009. Zach and his wife, Lauren, both born and raised in Northeast Ohio, now reside with their two young children in Cleveland Heights.
