Emmalee Keep brings enthusiasm and rigor for environmental stewardship and spatial literacy to their role as GIS Technician at Western Reserve Land Conservancy. With their experience in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and dedication to environmental conservation and equity, they play a significant role in analyzing and mapping geographical data to support the Land Conservancy’s missions.
Emmalee’s beginning in GIS started with their education at Baldwin Wallace University, where they obtained a B.S. in Environmental Science with a focus on environmental justice. They fully embrace their passion and commitment for the environment and community, which is shown in their previous experience working for the Cleveland Metroparks and Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District.
As an admirer of all things involving the natural world, they are an advocate for biodiversity, native species, and water conservation. This combination of interests led them to become a Master Rain Gardener and to be more involved with local efforts to protect our watersheds and restore native habitats.
Emmalee is a resident of the Old Brooklyn neighborhood in Cleveland, and enjoys spending their spare time listening to music, learning to ID plants, creating art, cooking, and gardening.
