Application for the 2026 Fall Sherwick Tree Steward Program is live!
Are you interested in trees? In this program, you will learn how to plant and care for trees in the city and how to convince other people to plant trees, too. A variety of topics will be covered including the benefits of trees, environmental equity issues, planting and maintenance best practices, common myths about trees, and more! It’s perfect for someone who wants to learn how to take care of their own trees or how to advocate for trees.
The application for the Fall 2026 cohort is open! We have two options for the training this fall: in person at Midtown Collaboration Center and virtually on Zoom, like in the past. Each option will have two 2-hour “classroom” sessions and one in person hands-on planting lab, followed by a quiz to make sure you know your stuff. Once all the steps are complete, you will become a certified tree steward!
Virtual Option Dates: August 17 and 24

Hands-on Lab for both: A Saturday in October/November, exact date TBD
This program is free and currently only offered to folks who live within the City of Cleveland. This is an application based program, we will let you know as soon as possible if you have been selected.
