Apply for our 2026 Sherwick Tree Steward Program!

Are you interested in trees? In this program, you will learn how to plant and care for trees in the city. A variety of topics will be covered including the benefits of trees, environmental equity issues, planting best practices, young tree training, and more! It’s perfect for someone who wants to learn how to take care of their own trees.

The application for the Spring 2026 cohort is open! We have two options for the training this spring: in person at Famicos Foundation and virtually on Zoom like in the past. Each option will have two 2-hour “classroom” sessions and one in person hands-on planting lab, followed by a quiz to make sure you know your stuff. Once all the steps are complete, you will become a certified tree steward!

Virtual Option Dates: February 17 and 24

In person Option Dates: March 12 and 19

Hands-on Lab for both: A Saturday in April/May exact date TBD

This program is free and currently only offered to folks who live within the city of Cleveland.
