Field Exploration: Moths & Island Nature

Join us for a unique overnight experience on Kelleys Island. On Thursday night, we’ll set up an array of lights to investigate moth diversity on the Island. On Friday morning, we’ll explore properties protected by the Land Conservancy, as well as Island landmarks, such as the Glacial Grooves. Kelleys is a limestone-base Island and contains unique plant diversity in its Alvar habitats. Come learn about moths and unique species on the Island.

Advanced registration is required.

Thursday, June 23 at 4:30 pm to Friday, June 24 at 12:00 pm
Leaders: Judy Semroc, Naturalist & Field Biologist; Chris Ashley, Manager of Kelleys Island State Park; and Renee Boronka, Manager of Conservation Education & Outreach at the Land Conservancy
Limit: 12 people
Location: Directions will be sent to registrants. Kelleys Island is in Erie County, OH, just north of Marblehead.
Fee: $60/person

Price includes the field trip portion of the trip. Participants must find their own overnight accommodations on the Island. Please note that to participate in this event, you must find a place to stay on the Island since the last ferry departs Kelleys Island at 9:30 pm on Thursday, June 23.
