Kids in the Creek celebrates family, nature

July 1, 2009

The 11th annual Kids in the Creek, an event in which people of all ages get to explore a river and its inhabitants, will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 26 at West Geauga Commons, 14070 Chillicothe Road, Novelty. The event is sponsored by Western Reserve Land Conservancy.

Participants are invited to wade in the Chagrin River, catch creatures and identify them. Don’t forget to bring a towel, a change of clothes and a picnic lunch. Meet at the pavilion near the park entrance.

The event is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated. Registration is not necessary, but participants are encouraged to RSVP.

The Land Conservancy is a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to preserving the open space, scenic beauty and working lands in a 14-county area in northern Ohio.
