Tree Stewards Planting Leader Training Spring 2022

April 19, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Calling all Tree Stewards! Do you want to play a greater role in helping Western Reserve Land Conservancy reforest our city? If so, consider becoming a Planting Leader!

What is a Planting Leader?

They are a valuable asset at a tree planting! Why? Because they are trained in both proper tree care as well as volunteer engagement and education. As a Planting Leader, you will lead 3-5 volunteers at our tree plantings… passing on your knowledge, providing guidance/instruction, as well as building connections.

This workshop will include:

  • A quick review of ROC planting program goals
  • A refresher on proper tree planting and tree care techniques
  • A step by step guide in leading volunteers throughout a tree planting, which includes:
  • Good volunteer engagement strategies that keep everyone involved
  • Learning how to deliver a tree planting demonstration
  • And, learning how to manage novice tree planters once they begin planting on their own
We require that you have gone through our Tree Steward Training before registering to become a Planting Leader. After you register, you will be sent the zoom link for the session.

Thank you for your commitment to building connections, growing our urban forest, and creating greener, healthier communities.

Date and Time: Tuesday, April 19 from 6 – 9 PM

Details: Zoom link will be sent via email upon registration.
